Creative Framing welcomes four talented artists showcasing a variety of media such as oil, acrylic, mixed media. Meet Mike Brouse, Tabitha Aaron, Jane Yamada and Jane Denison at the Gallery. Additionally, Tabitha is an accomplished children's book illustrator and you'll have the opportunity to take a peak of her latest work! Both this and her first book will be on display and available for purchase. The show runs through September.

Frida Kahlo was born July 6, 1907 in Mexico. She passed away after a life full of physical challenges and personal loss. Throughout her life she painted self-portraits, releasing the torment of her life into her art. She was a master artist and a very inspiring woman. Art Glass Show & Glass Blowing Demo

This is the largest fine art glass show, featuring six Colorado glass artists. Flame work glass blowing demos will occur both days. This show features sculptural glass, traditional and flame-work blown glass, kiln formed glass, slumped glass, painted glass and fused glass. On exhibit is functional as well as decorative-only glass art created for table centerpieces, serving dishes, goblets, wall sconces, vases, lights and more.

Based on the book by James Magruder, “Triumph” is the musical spin on the tale of a princess’s attempt to win the heart of a young philosophy student. Assuming various guises of both genders, the love-struck Princess Leonide sneaks into the garden retreat of rigid philosopher Hermocrates, his equally emotionless sister, Hesione, and their handsome nephew and student, Agis. The emerging artists series stars some of the best young actors in musical theater in the Denver/Boulder area. The show is directed by Jeanie Balch, music by Jeffry Stock and lyrics by Susan Birkenhead. Music Direction by Katie McClave. Tickets range from $10-20. Check the website for times and dates:

Mapping the Nation

The program will be presented by Susan Schulten, author of "Mapping the Nation," DU Professor, and contributor to the New York Times’ “Disunion” series on the American Civil War. Explore the great cartographic innovation of the nineteenth century when medical men mapped disease, natural scientists mapped the environment to uncover weather patterns, and educators mapped the past to foster national loyalty among young Americans. Mapping was a way to profile the population and its resources. In fact, the world we inhabit today—saturated with maps and graphic information—grew out of this reconfiguration of spatial thought and representation.

Jon from Twelve Degree Brewing will be discussing Louisville’s newest brewery and designing their signature Belgian-style beers. Jesse from Avery Brewing Company will be talking about canning and bottling beers in a large- scale facility along with homebrew bottling tips and tricks. The brewing and bottling discussion will be followed by a beer tasting provided by Avery and Twelve Degree in the Twelve Degree taproom across the alley from Louisville Public Library at 802 Main Street.
If These Stones Could Talk

Mary Reilly-McNellan will speak about the history of Boulder’s Columbia Cemetery, where many Louisville residents were buried. She is co-author of the new book, “If These Stones Could Talk: Tales from Columbia Cemetery,” which was published last November. The book includes information on cemetery ‘residents’, grave markers, symbolism, and preservation efforts. Copies of the book will be available for sale after the program.

This enlightening tour will explore the area between La Farge Avenue, with its many small homes built for miners’ families, and Memory Square Park, which historically was the location of two Louisville schools. It is a combination of tours given in the past two years on Memory Square and on La Farge Avenue. The tour will be led by Diane Marino.
